- Designed for accurate fit and alignment to restore original closing feel and body gap appearance.
- Easy to install with adhesive attachment and optional trimming for a precise fit — ideal for restorations and replacements.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully peel away the existing seal and remove any old adhesive or foam backing using a cleaner/degreaser and a trim tool.
- Clean the mounting surface: thoroughly clean and dry the door jamb channel and flange so adhesive bonds to bare metal/paint.
- Test fit the new strip: position the new weatherstrip along the door edge to check orientation and length; identify any trimming points before applying adhesive.
- Apply adhesive: follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. Apply a continuous bead or spot adhesive to the door channel or to the weatherstrip flange as recommended.
- Position and press: align the weatherstrip at the top, press it firmly into the channel, and work your way around the door, holding consistent pressure to ensure full contact.
- Secure and seat: use masking tape to hold the strip in place if needed. Run a rubber roller or block along the seal to compress and seat the adhesive bond.
- Trim excess and finish: trim any excess material with a razor knife for a clean edge. Wipe away any adhesive squeeze-out and allow adhesive to cure per product instructions.
- Repeat for the opposite door and test: close the door several times to confirm fit, seal and alignment. Make any minor adjustments once adhesive is set.
