1,599 original miles and sitting in the garage for 45 years

Some classic car restorations are too good to be true.
Take this 1978 Corvette. Ohio-based WD Detailing tells the story on its Instagram and YouTube accounts of how the car went from dust-covered to shining gem.
The Corvette had 1,599 original miles and was found sitting in a garage for 45 years.
"What if I told you this is one of the lowest mileage 1978 Corvettes in the entire world," those viewing the discovery on WD Detailing's YouTube channel learn. "Would you believe me?"
The C3 Corvette 25th anniversary car was purchased for less than $15,000 U.S. brand new in 1978.
The 40-minute YouTube video shows everything that went into the painstaking process of bringing the car back to life. That included detailing of the red leather interior, polishing up the wheel lugs before they went back on the car and removing rust from the tailpipe.
"Now this is one of the most satisfying things I think I've ever personally done," RJ Wagner of WD Detailing explains before the tailpipe work.
He said he worked with a detailer named Jason Kilmer who advised spraying a rust remover gel onto a surface and letting it sit for about 20 minutes before using steel wool to remove rust that's been sitting for decades.
The video concludes with footage of the gleaming white car in contrast to another 1978 Corvette sitting next to it under a pile of dust inside the garage.
