  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Floor jack and jack stands or vehicle lift
  • Fuel-safe container or siphon
  • Pliers or fuel line disconnect tool
  • Torque wrench

Instructions:
  1. Work in a well-ventilated area and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent sparks.
  2. Relieve any fuel system pressure if applicable and safely drain or siphon enough fuel from the tank so the sending unit area is accessible.
  3. Support the fuel tank with a jack and remove any straps, shields, or mounting hardware necessary to lower the tank enough to access the sender.
  4. Disconnect electrical connector(s) and any fuel lines attached to the sending unit. Cap or plug lines to prevent spills.
  5. Remove the sending unit retaining ring or screws and carefully lift the old sending unit out of the tank, noting float orientation and arm position.
  6. Compare the new unit with the old one to confirm fitment and transfer any required components (such as float arm orientation) per the new unit’s instructions.
  7. Install a new gasket or sealing ring on the sending unit flange and carefully lower the new unit into the tank, ensuring proper alignment.
  8. Secure the sending unit with the retaining ring or screws and torque hardware to factory specifications if available.
  9. Reconnect fuel lines and electrical connector, raise and secure the tank, then reconnect the battery.
  10. Turn the ignition on and check the fuel gauge operation. Inspect for leaks while the tank is under slight pressure or after a short test drive; re-torque hardware if necessary.
