Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and protect surrounding paint with masking tape.
- Carefully remove the old beltline molding: use a trim removal tool to disengage clips and a screwdriver for any fasteners.
- Inspect and remove any broken clips or adhesive residue from the molding channel; clean the area with a cloth and mild solvent and allow to dry.
- Compare new molding pieces to the originals to confirm correct left/right orientation and fit.
- If new clips are separate, install clips onto the molding at the correct spacing following the original clip locations.
- Align the leading edge of the molding with the front of the channel and press firmly along the length to engage clips; use steady, even pressure to avoid distortion.
- Reinstall any screws or fasteners removed earlier and ensure the molding seats fully against the body with no gaps.
- Inspect the installed molding for consistent alignment and trim any excess if necessary. Test for wind noise or looseness on a short drive and re-tighten fasteners if required.
