Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and lower windows for access if applicable.
- Carefully remove the old beltline molding: pry out trim clips using a trim removal tool and remove any screws or retainers. Keep hardware if reusable.
- Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, wax and old adhesive; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new outer left and right moldings to verify alignment and clip engagement before final installation.
- If adhesive promoter or sealant is recommended, apply according to product instructions on the cleaned surface.
- Align the molding at one end and press firmly along the beltline engaging each clip into its receptacle; reinstall any screws or retainers.
- Use masking tape to hold the molding in position if needed while final clips seat. Make sure the molding sits flush with adjacent trim.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive or residue and allow recommended cure time before exposing to moisture or driving at high speed.
- Inspect the installation for secure fit and test for wind noise or water leaks after a short road test and a light water spray-check.
