- Verify you have the correct clips: door lock knob clips for 1956–1962 Corvettes and sunvisor pin cast elbow clips for 1979–1982 Corvettes.
- Door lock knob installation: if required, remove the interior door panel to access the lock shaft. Pull the lock knob straight up off the shaft. Use needle-nose pliers to remove the old clip from the shaft, clean the shaft, then slide the new cast clip into the lock shaft groove until fully seated. Reinstall the knob and operate the lock to confirm secure retention.
- Sunvisor pin (cast elbow) installation: lower the visor and expose the pin/elbow assembly at the header. Remove the old elbow clip with a flat-blade screwdriver or pliers. Position the new cast elbow on the pin arm so the retention lip aligns with the mounting hole, insert the pin into the header, and snap or gently tap the elbow into place with a small punch if needed.
- Reinstall any removed trim or door panels, wipe away excess lubricant, and test the door lock and visor through their full range of motion to ensure proper fit and eliminate rattles.
