A direct-fit windshield weatherstrip engineered for 1963-1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible models. This black rubber seal (without a trim groove) restores the windshield-to-body seal to stop water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and improve overall cabin comfort. Made from durable weather-resistant material, it provides long-lasting compression and reliable performance during restoration or maintenance projects while remaining easy to fit for most DIYers and professional installers.
Features:
- Fits 1963-1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible models
- Direct-fit windshield weatherstrip designed without a trim groove to match original bezelless installations
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber for long-lasting sealing and resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature cycling
- Restores OEM-style sealing to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise during driving
- Simple installation — stretch-and-seat design with optional adhesive for a secure, permanent fit
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacement of dried, cracked, or missing seals
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old windshield weatherstrip. Use a plastic trim tool to pry the old seal out to avoid damaging the windshield flange or body.
- Clean the windshield flange and channel thoroughly with denatured alcohol or an approved solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new seal around the windshield to confirm orientation and fit. Identify top center reference points and how the ends meet.
- If recommended for your application, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the inner lip of the seal where indicated by the adhesive manufacturer. Avoid excess adhesive.
- Lightly spray soapy water or silicone lubricant inside the seal bulb to ease installation and prevent binding.
- Start installation at the top center of the windshield. Press the seal into the channel and work outward toward each corner, seating the seal firmly and evenly as you go. Use a plastic tool or your fingers to ensure the bulb seats fully into the flange.
- Trim any excess material at the ends for a neat joint. Overlap or butt the ends per the original factory configuration and secure with a small amount of adhesive if needed.
- Use masking tape or clamps as needed to hold the seal in place while adhesive cures. Follow adhesive cure times as specified by the product used.
- Reinstall any windshield trim or molding if applicable, and perform a water test to confirm there are no leaks. Make any minor adjustments while adhesive is still tacky.
