This 22-piece fender moulding top speed nut set is designed to restore and secure the exterior trim on 1958-1962 Chevrolet Corvette models. The kit provides replacement speed nuts that fasten mouldings to the fender and body, ensuring a tight, rattle-free fit. Manufactured from high-strength steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, these speed nuts deliver long-lasting reliability and consistent clamping force during assembly or restoration. The set simplifies trim reinstallation, reduces vibration and wear, and helps maintain factory-alike appearance and fitment.
Features:
- Fits 1958-1962 Chevrolet Corvette models (front and rear fender mouldings).
- Complete 22-piece set includes top speed nuts sized for factory moulding attachment points.
- High-strength steel construction with a corrosion-resistant finish for durability.
- Secures fender mouldings to prevent looseness, vibration and trim damage.
- Easy push-on installation for faster reassembly during restoration or maintenance.
- Ideal replacement for missing, damaged or corroded original speed nuts.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and remove the moulding screws or clips securing the moulding to expose the speed nut locations.
- Carefully remove the old speed nuts by prying them out with a flathead screwdriver or using needle-nose pliers; apply penetrating oil on rusted fasteners and allow to soak if necessary.
- Clean the mounting holes and surrounding area with a rag and mild cleaner to remove dirt, rust and debris for proper seating of the new speed nuts.
- Position each new speed nut over the panel hole or stud so the prongs align with the sheetmetal edge; press firmly until the nut snaps into place and seats flush.
- Reinstall the moulding, aligning the screw holes with the newly installed speed nuts; insert and tighten screws or clips hand-tight, then snug with a screwdriver or socket—avoid overtorquing.
- Inspect the moulding fit along its length, make minor adjustments as needed, and verify all mouldings are secure and free of play.
