Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and remove all ignition sources; wear safety gear.
- Relieve fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Drain remaining fuel from the old tank into a suitable container using a pump or by siphon; capture spills in a drain pan.
- Safely raise and support the vehicle with a floor jack and jack stands or use a lift.
- Support the tank with a transmission jack or second floor jack and remove the mounting strap bolts or fasteners.
- Disconnect fuel lines, vent hoses, and electrical connector(s) for the sender; label lines if needed for reassembly.
- Lower the old tank carefully and remove it from under the vehicle.
- Transfer the sender and any required hardware to the new tank, replacing the sender gasket or O-ring with a new seal.
- Inspect and, if needed, replace tank straps, mounting hardware and fuel lines; clean mounting surfaces.
- Raise the new tank into position, align outlet and mount points, then loosely install straps to secure the tank.
- Reconnect fuel lines, vent hoses and the sender electrical connector; ensure clamps and fittings are tight and routed clear of heat or moving parts.
- Tighten mounting straps to specified torque, lower the vehicle, reconnect the battery and add fuel.
- Start the engine and inspect for leaks; recheck fittings and torque after a short test drive.
